FINE DINING
Good food is part of la joie de vivre (the joy of life). At Caretel we realize the importance of the dining experience. All lmeals are served resturant style. Special needs or tastes can usually be accomodated. Like any good resturant, we have a trained Chef in charge, cooks who assist him and aides to help. We believe our guests should have une bonne expérience dînante (a good dining experience).
As with all things, at Caretel there are choices surrounding the dining experience. Consider these various options :
1. Obviously the first option is to eat the prepared meal in the Inn’s dining room.
2. Family members can join Caretel Guests for lunch or dinner as they wish in the Inn’s dining room. There is a moderate meal charge, so ask the staff.
3. A Caretel guest may request room service and eat in their room.
4. Family members may eat the prepared meals or bring in home prepared meals and eat with Caretel guest in the Family Dining Room. The Family Dining room was designed for your use and enjoyment (no charge). The room includes a mini-kitchen to accommodate your cooking needs. To avoid conflicts reservations are requested.
5. Another option is to go out to dinner. As nice as Caretel is, a change of scenery is always fun. There are many fine restaurants nearby for guests able to travel. Check with the nurses for dietary restrictions and medications, especially if the person is diabetic.
6. Several guests can get together, reserve the Family Dining Room and have a party. Pizza is a favorite to order in or a family member can be enlisted to bring in KFC or McDonalds. Laissez les bons temps roulent (let the good times roll).
As you can see, both Cartel’s building and programs have been thoughtfully designed to provide le fait de dîner parfait (fine dining). While food preferences vary widely, we seem to be able to accommodate most with the above options. We have a Registered Dietician on staff and special diets are available.
We hate to brag, but our meals are so good that after a few months most of our guests are starting to speak French. Well…….maybe not. Bon Appétit !
